I was writing a story, thinking it would be another short story. It wasn't and is also not a one-part story, and then I generated another right behind it, which turned out to be "Hobble" and then another, which is a more than one-part ancient tale. This was approx. from Jan to September / October with the final tale taking up May to the end.
Hobble, as the shortest, was my test story for my first complete novel and publishing.
My characters and stories step forth with their own energy to pen them. But, Hobble coincided with my ... unrest about mental health care, and sexual interactions of power, surrender, and kindness or lack there of, with the fluctuating balance of sexual power and interactions always showcased in my writing works.
However, while writing Hobble, someone close to me was "captured" by the mental health "system" and I had to go have them released to me, as the hospital staff "casually" said, the doctor's "just gone on vacation, and hasn't released" them.
"Well, do call him, and / or release my person to me."
They were not ... kind, and the potential for the kind of vile treatment and care, better know as mistreatment, that young Day receives in this erotic novel was all too apparent.
My person was and is safe from this; but, again, the possible chained terror of locked doors, body restraints, and heavy drugs administered by those "in power"; plus interpersonal manipulations....
To me, such things are a horror and some of the true monsters of our lives. And so is the ignorant limits in these times of sanctioning violence, especially dehumanizing sexual violence, whether in actuality or in depictions; without easing its effects or even erasing such damage with the Redemptive Power of Love and Loving, Trusting Sex.

Sourne wrote a novel with such a large supply of twist and turns it'll have you dropping your mouth in shock. But be forewarned, Hobble has a crazy mix of characters.... Some of the sex scenes had me (a person who loves erotica) squirming.
